What's with the name, and who are you people?

We call ourselves Glenn Poor Chicago in homage to Glenn Poor Sr. and Jr.  Since 1949, the original Glenn Poor in Champaign has combined heartwarming, Midwestern friendliness and work ethic, while being the first store in the area to introduce people to exceptional brands.  While we are a separate company, we remember how well we were treated when purchasing our first "high performance" music system from Glenn Poor's 20 years ago.  So, there really is a Glenn Poor, and if you visit Champaign, you can talk to someone who's life has revolved around music and TV for over fifty years.

The principal characters at Glenn Poor Chicago come from some interesting backgrounds:

Kevin (the Maestro) brings experience from the record industry (he was at CBS when CDs first came out, and boy did he think they sounded dreadful back then).  Kevin also financed his own passion for great sound with a long career in the advertising industry, primarily in client service.  (So he knows what demanding clients expect when they say "service", and he has extensive experience translating "creative vision" into actual execution.

Kirk (the Conductor) has been even closer to artists for his entire career.  He's been an A&R executive for record labels (finding new talent), and he's managed the careers of famous artists (he sometimes lets us hear some juicy stories).  Kirk also knows everybody, because he's gregarious, outgoing, and genuinely interested in people.  He also is quite a character himself, as you'll discover.
