Some Help In How To Buy An Entertainment System

Sound is physics, so there is some science as well as art.  Try to bring a sketch or floor plan, so we know the shape and construction of your room(s), and what type of furnishings may inhabit it.  This helps us think about where to put speakers, shade control, etc.

Don't be afraid to consider a real projection system.  Nothing is as fun as seeing movies or HD programming on genuine "movie systems".  You may be able to step up to a "big screen", rather than settle for a "flat screen".  Projectors have come a long way, just recently.

You need a benchmark or frame of reference.   We have amazingly broad tastes in both music and movies, but when we "voice" systems, we only use one or two pieces that we know exceedingly well.  You'll avoid confusion if you listen intently to only a couple of pieces of favorite recordings or soundtracks with which you are intimately familiar.  It's the only way to judge how much extra enjoyment you get as you ladder up the price spectrum.
