It's like, it's up to the people to fall in love with the song. The record company can only do so much.

Our new website is complete, and I have decided to write a blog that will give friends of the program the opportunity to learn things that may make life more enjoyable.  Some of the things may even have to do with music, movies, or gear.

My seventeen year-old daughter thinks it's cool that Daddy has a store right under Nordstrom's.  It's not only a place to bring her friends to watch movies or dance to the music.  It's also a great place to drop off packages while doing other things, like more shopping.  Or to change into her new purchases for evenings with her friends.  She tries to show enthusiasm when I pull her into one of the rooms to listen to great new speakers, or when I geek out comparing playing vinyl to CD versions.  She even is patient when I go on about what songs originally contained the samples or riffs heard on her latest favorite song

But truth be told, she's just happy Dad has something about which to be passionate.  I could turn the store into a bookstore, and as long as I spoke breathlessly about the new Harry Potter book, I think she'd be happy that I was happy.  As long as the store was still in such a cool place, and as long as I still kept the icebox stocked with sodas .  But she does tease me mercilessly when some of our home gear malfunctions.  I have, however, made it possible for her and her brother to use two Dance Dance Revolution PS2 pads at the same time.  So I've earned a few passes with that.

By the way, here are her latest fave artists, at least based on what she puts on when she takes over the iPod stereo system at the front of the store:  Lily Allen, T.I., Justin Timberlake (an enthusiasm shared by her mom), and Shop Boys ("Party Like A Rock Star").  And since I gifted her with a decent stereo, and her room is right over ours, I get to learn these songs pretty thoroughly.

My fifteen year-old son prefers the oldies stations, so go figure.
At least they both love music.
